About this game
Use it when rock paper scissors keeps ending in a tie, or when the same kid always ends up being it. Put each player's name on the wheel and spin; whoever the pointer stops on is it. The result is decided right in front of everyone, so kids accept it easily, and you can pick the next tagger again in seconds. It works for any game that needs someone to be it: hide and seek, tag, freeze tag or red light, green light.
How to play
- Enter the players' names (the prize slot is already set to It).
- Press spin and the wheel turns, then slowly stops.
- Whoever the pointer lands on is it.
FAQ
- Can I pick two people to be it?
- The wheel picks one person per spin. If you need two, spin once more, or use the card draw, where you can set the number of winners.
- Can I leave out the person who was just it?
- Yes. Remove that name from the players and spin. If you're worried about the same person getting picked again and again, agree that whoever was just it sits out the next draw.
- How is this different from rock paper scissors or eeny meeny?
- With a big group, rock paper scissors ties a lot and takes forever, and counting rhymes can be steered by whoever does the counting. The wheel settles it in one spin, no matter how many players.
- Is it really fair?
- The result is decided at random, and fairly, the moment you press start. The animation only reveals it. Nobody can pick or predict the outcome in advance.
- Do I need to sign up or install anything?
- No. It's free, and the names and penalties you type stay on this device. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Can I show it on a big screen without ads?
- Yes. Press the "Full screen" button on the game page. Ads and the text around the board are hidden, and only the game fills the screen.
- What kind of site is Tortle?
- Tortle is a free website of luck-based mini games that works instantly, with no sign-up or install. Use the ladder game, roulette wheel, drawing lots (gacha capsules), card draw, dice, turtle race and team split to fairly decide who goes first, who does a chore, who gets a penalty or who wins a prize.
